About

I attended public schools in the greater Little Rock area and am a Native Arkansan. My first two years of law school were spent at SMU Law School in Dallas, Texas. While at SMU Law School, I was given the rare opportunity to work as a licensed student attorney for the SMU Criminal Defense Clinic where I defended individuals charged with DWI and other misdemeanor offenses in Court. I learned early on how to effectively represent individuals charged with crimes and how to navigate the court system. I was mentored by Attorney Mike McCollum of Dallas, Texas and will be forever grateful for his guidance, wisdom, and dedication to teaching law students how to effectively advocate for their clients in the courtroom which is not something you can learn from reading law books. It was through this experience that I knew I was born to be a litigator. I had found my calling in life – I would be a trial attorney.

I spent my final year of law school as a visiting student at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, Bowen Law School, where I was given another wonderful opportunity to clerk for the great, Samuel A. Perroni. Mr. Perroni is revered as one of the greatest federal criminal defense attorneys the nation has ever seen. As a law clerk for Mr. Perroni, I not only drafted federal criminal motions, trial briefs, and appellate briefs, but I was able to attend a federal white-collar criminal jury trial that Samuel A. Perroni and his partner, Shelly Koehler, were the defense attorneys on.

Shortly after becoming a licensed attorney in the State of Arkansas, I began working for the Robertson Law Firm in Central Arkansas. Robertson Law Firm focused primarily on criminal defense and family law. The owner of the firm, Bonnie Robertson, was a great mentor who I hold in very high regard. It was here that I started assisting families through their divorces, child custody cases, guardianship cases, and the like. Bonnie Robertson taught me how to utilize my skills and talent in the family law arena.

I started my own law firm in 2011. I have litigated a wide range of cases from federal criminal cases to felony rape cases. I have thoroughly enjoyed defending federal criminal cases where I have learned what it truly means to be the great divider between the government and my client.

I have joined forces with some of the most successful trial attorneys in the State, Samuel A. Perroni and Ralph J. Blagg. Samuel A. Perroni and Ralph J. Blagg are of counsel in my firm.  Samuel A. Perroni has been involved in some of the most high-profile cases this State has ever seen. I have incorporated the ‘Perroni practice of law’ in representing my clients. To this day, Mr. Perroni advises and assists me in my preparation of my federal criminal trials. In addition, I have tried many criminal cases with Ralph J. Blagg. Ralph J. Blagg has extensive experience in State criminal jury trials, family law matters, social security issues, tax and IRS issues, and personal injury cases. Ralph J. Blagg was a CPA before he was an attorney and those skills have been utilized many times during our trials together. Ralph J. Blagg took the time to teach me how to practice law inside the courtroom every step of the way during my first federal jury trial years ago and our various State criminal jury trials throughout the years. He has been an invaluable asset to me and a dear friend.

Sergio Ceja is also of counsel in the firm. Sergio Ceja is one of the few licensed attorneys in this State that is also a licensed financial advisor with securities. He holds series 7 and 66 securities licenses in eight different states. He has experience working for a wall street investment firm, a commercial bank, a top CPA firm, and an independent securities broker-dealer. Sergio Ceja’s ability to analyze complicated financial records is a huge asset to the firm in federal cases, white collar cases, family law and divorce cases with assets at issue, and the like.

The extensive courtroom experience of our firm coupled with the financial mindset combine to result in aggressive, competent representation in each and every case that we take at the law firm.
